Self-Evaluation of Science Literacy

Q.8: Do you consider yourself to be science literate?

Two-thirds (66%) of all Americans surveyed believe they are science literate. One-third (32%) do not feel they are science literate.

Men are more likely than women to say they are science literate. Adults under age 65 are more likely than those age 65 and over to feel they are science literate. Expectedly, those with a college education and those working in the field of science and technology are more likely than their counterparts to report they are science literate.
