In order for average Americans to understand and deal with these threats, how important do you think it is for the average American to have the general knowledge of science, math, and technology that is sometimes called science literacy?

One in every two (49%) Americans feel it is very important for the average American to be science literate in order to understand and deal with terrorist threats and 42% report it is somewhat important. One in fourteen (7%) do not think it is important for the average American.
