ASSET, Inc.

ASSET LogoASSET (Allegheny Schools Education and Technology) Inc. is an independent non-profit organization created by Bayer in 1992. It is composed of business, education and community leaders committed to changing the way science is taught and learned at the elementary level in Allegheny County - Pittsburgh, PA.

ASSET embraces professional development, teacher support, collaboration and hands-on materials as the four fundamental ingredients that ensure student success. Participation in the ASSET program develops a child's inquiry and reasoning skills by training teachers in inquiry based science instruction and assessment. Currently, 58 school districts, approximately 2,200 teachers, and 60,000 students in southwestern Pennsylvania participate in the program.

ASSET has earned national recognition from the National Science Foundation and has gained the backing of business, education and community leaders in the Pittsburgh area.
