Scott Petrak

Vice President, Science & Technology

Scott Petrak is the Vice President of Science & Technology for Bayer Business and Technology Services, which supports its customers’ business processes with application service and solutions for information retrieval and processing that go beyond logistics and administration. The offerings includes research and development, collaborative activities, document and content management, and locally specialized ERP support. Scott also serves as Senior Relationship Manager from the BBS Leadership Team for Bayer MaterialScience.

Scott began his career at Bayer in 1995 and has served in technical and program-level leadership roles for all U.S. SAP implementations; he has held various leadership positions in the Business Application Systems and Core Business Systems departments. He recently served as Head, NA IT Project Management, with responsibility for implementation of a new department and process for management of customer project requests, development of bid proposals, and management of all small and medium-size NA IT projects. In addition, Scott served as Director, ERP Upgrades for North America, with responsibility for strategic planning and direction of major software upgrades (primarily SAP) within the region. In this position, he was the senior program management partner with Bayer Healthcare O&I and instrumental in the successful La Primera, Schering U.S. Integration and Project Prince initiatives.

Before joining Bayer, Scott held progressively challenging IT positions with various companies over a 15-year period. He holds a B.S. degree in Computer Science from Lock Haven University, and an MBA from Robert Morris University. Scott is a member of the Industry Advisory Council for ABET, Inc. (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology).
