Joerg Ohle

President and General Manager, Animal Health Division, North America

Joerg Ohle is President and General Manager of Bayer HealthCare LLC's Animal Health Division, North America, which is a global leader in the manufacturing and marketing of parasite control products and prescription pharmaceuticals for dogs, cats, horses, cattle and swine.

Mr. Ohle is responsible for management and strategic direction of the North American animal health business. He also is a member of the worldwide Animal Health group's management committee.

Mr. Ohle's 31-year career with Bayer has been focused on providing effective health care products and on being the leader in the science behind these products. He has a wealth of international business experience as his career has crossed several continents, where he has used his knowledge and passion for improving and protecting the health and well-being of both humans and animals.

Mr. Ohle began his career at Bayer in Germany in 1977 with Bayer's pharmaceuticals business. From 1982 to 1984, he worked in El Salvador with the pharmaceuticals marketing organization. In 1984, he transferred to the emerging market of East Africa, strengthening Bayer's Pharmaceutical and Self Medication regional office there. Three years later, he moved to Germany to become Marketing Manager, Pharmaceuticals business for the Middle East and Africa regions. In 1989, Mr. Ohle headed to Santiago, Chile to lead Bayer's Pharmaceutical and Self Medication group.

From 1992 to 1996, he held several marketing positions within the Consumer Care business group in Germany. In 1996 he relocated to Singapore, holding various positions in Bayer's health care business in the Asia Pacific region. His last role there before moving to the United States in 2005, was as head of Bayer HealthCare, Asia Pacific, responsible for all aspects of Bayer's health care businesses, including Animal Health.

As Board Chairman of Kansas City's recently formed Animal Health Corridor initiative, Mr. Ohle has been instrumental in bringing together a dynamic community and industry partnership to globally position the Kansas City region as the preeminent center for animal health research and innovation.

Mr. Ohle is a member of the Kansas City Chamber of Commerce and serves as a board member of the Kansas City Area Development Council, the Kansas City Area Life Sciences Institute and the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation. He is co-chairing the Kansas Innovation Consortium with Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius.

Mr. Ohle holds a business degree from Bayer's International Management School in Leverkusen, Germany. He and his wife Anita live in Kansas City and have three grown children. An animal lover, Mr. Ohle has a horse and two dogs.
