As the head of Human Resources, Americas, for Bayer MaterialScience LLC, Ann Hoover is responsible for ensuring that strategic human resources support is provided to all employees and business partners in Bayer MaterialScience LLC.

Prior to this position, Hoover was a Human Resources business partner for Bayer MaterialScience. In this role, she provided strategic Human Resources support for various businesses and service units, including Polyurethanes; Coatings, Adhesives and Specialties; Regional Business Support; and Law, Patents and Licensing.

Hoover joined Bayer in 1986 as supervisor of Employment and Benefits at the New Martinsville plant. She has held various positions of increasing responsibility, including director of Human Resources for Bayer Polymers and Chemicals. Prior to joining Bayer, she was a regional program director for a non-profit organization in North Central West Virginia where she was responsible for health education programming and fundraising.

Hoover is a member of the Bayer Benefits Advisory Team and is very active in supporting the company’s diversity efforts. She serves on the Board of Directors of NEED, a nationally recognized college access program that has supported more than 19,000 minority youth in the Western Pennsylvania region since its formation in the late 1960s.

A native of West Virginia, Hoover holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a master’s degree in industrial and labor relations from West Virginia University.

She lives in Canonsburg, Pa., with her husband.
