Willy Scherf is Chief Financial Officer of Bayer Corporation.

Willy Scherf served as CEO of the U.S. service company, Bayer Corporate and Business Services from 2004 to 2008. He was a member of the Board of Management and responsible for Administration & Services at the Bayer CropScience AG, from mid-2002 to mid-2004. During that time he was also Labor Director.

Willy Scherf was born on January 11, 1953, in Bergisch Gladbach, Germany. He started as a Trainee at Deutsche Bank before taking a degree in business administration at the Fachhochschule für Wirtschaft in Cologne. He joined the Corporate Auditing Department of Bayer AG in 1977. Between 1980 and 1993, Willy Scherf held various managerial positions in Finance and Accounting at Bayer companies in Morocco, Hong Kong and Brazil, each move interspersed by a brief period at Bayer's Leverkusen headquarters. From 1993 to 1997 he was responsible for financial controlling, mergers and acquisitions in the Crop Protection Business Group. He then moved outside Germany again as Director of Finance and Accounting at Bayer Antwerpen N.V. and Bayer International in Antwerp from 1997 to 2001. In October 2001 he was appointed Head of Business Planning & Administration in the Animal Health Business Group of Bayer AG.

Willy Scherf is married and has four daughters.
