Ian Spinks

Ian Spinks is President and General Manager of Bayer HealthCare LLC’s Animal Health
Division, North America, which is a global leader in the manufacturing and marketing
of parasite control products and prescription pharmaceuticals for dogs, cats, horses,
cattle and swine. Ian is responsible for management and strategic direction of the
North American animal health business. He is also a member of the worldwide Animal
Health group’s management committee.
Prior to this role, Ian Spinks was Senior Vice President and Global Head for the
Analgesics and CardioAspirin Strategic Business Units in Bayer HealthCare’s Consumer
Care Division. Additionally, he was responsible for global business development
and served as a member of the Consumer Care Management Team.
Prior to that, Ian was Senior Vice President, Global Strategic Development for Consumer
Care where he oversaw Global Marketing, Global Communications and Competitive Intelligence.
Before that, he was Senior Vice President and Head of Global Strategic Marketing,
and responsible for a significantly increased emphasis on worldwide strategic planning
and marketing for the Consumer Care Business Group.
Previously Ian served as Senior Vice President and Region Head of Mid-Americas and
Worldwide Strategic Marketing. In this position, he was responsible for Bayer Consumer
Care business in Mexico and Central America and establishing global marketing for
Consumer Care.
Ian joined Bayer’s Consumer Care Division in 1991 bringing with him seven years
of experience in marketing and sales with Johnson & Johnson and Smith Kline Beecham.
He has held various positions of increasing responsibility in marketing, sales and
business development.
He received his B.S. degree in chemistry and mathematics from University of London,
and then went on to receive his MBA in marketing and finance from Columbia School
of Business.
Ian was born in England, is married with two children.
