Security Principles

Bayer recognizes that in order to better protect the environment and the health and safety of its employees, customers and the communities where business is conducted, it will maintain a comprehensive and effective security system in accordance with these security principles.
Bayer will work cooperatively with federal, state and local government agencies and communities to promote open communications and coordination of response activities.
Each Bayer site will conduct periodic security risk evaluations to identify, analyze and address potential security vulnerabilities.
Bayer management will document and implement security plans and procedures commensurate with the risks associated with facility operations, raw material supply chain, distribution and application of products, as well as those risks associated with intellectual property and information systems (cyber security).
Bayer will continue to expand the awareness of and commitment to enhanced security practices with all its business partners.
Every Bayer employee is responsible for adherence to the security plan and for being alert to activities which might constitute a threat.
Appropriate training will be provided to enhance security awareness and capability among employees and, when appropriate, others such as emergency response teams.
Bayer will consider site security in the design of its facilities and in the transportation and use of its products, and continually evaluate and improve its security management systems by means such as audits and emergency response drills.
The Bayer Corporation Security Network is responsible for coordinating security activities within Bayer.
