Michael Zierden

Bayer MaterialScience LLC
Head of Thermoplastic Polyurethane Resin Business

Mike Zierden is head of the Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) Resin business for Bayer MaterialScience LLC. In this role, Mike is responsible for all sales, marketing, manufacturing, research and development, and product management activities for the TPU business unit in North America.

Prior to his current position, Mike served as Director of Sales, Marketing and New Business Development for TPU. He joined Bayer in 1991 as a technical sales specialist and has held several management positions with increasing responsibility, including Director – Prospect to Harvest Process Lead for the Business Excellence group; Product Manager for Texin® TPU; Business manager for Semi-Crystalline Products; Eastern Regional Manager – Plastics Division; and Eastern Regional Manager – Injection Molding.

Mike holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Villanova University, as well as a master’s in business administration from Pepperdine University. He also obtained his Six Sigma black belt while in the Business Excellence group at Bayer MaterialScience.

A native of Pittsburgh, Mike resides in Venetia, Pa., with his wife and two daughters.
