Senior Country Representative—Canada
Ernie Springolo is the Senior Country Representative for Bayer MaterialScience LLC (BMS) in Canada. In this role, he is responsible for all BMS sales and market development activities in Canada.
Prior to his current role, Ernie held various positions of increasing responsibility with Bayer, including Senior Account Manager / Global Key Account Manager – Polyurethane and Business Manager – Polyurethane. Ernie also played a key market development role in introducing BMS’ Hyperlite® and Ultracel® polyol brands to European users.
Before joining Bayer in 2000, Ernie worked for the Union Carbide Canada Ltd., Union Carbide Corporation, the AC West Virginia Polyol Corporation, Arco Chemical Canada and Lyondell. He has held positions in technology, marketing, and product and sales management in the films, chemicals, polyurethanes, silicones, coatings and solvents, and intermediate market areas.
Ernie graduated from the University of Toronto with a degree in chemical engineering and applied science. He is also a member of the Order of Engineers of Quebec.
A native of Italy, Ernie currently resides in Aurora, Ontario, Canada, with his spouse and daughters. He has coached girls’ soccer for several years, and plays soccer with a Bayer employees group as part of a squash / weight training / soccer ‘mental health’ regimen.
