Vice President and General Manager of Advanced Resins Division NAFTA, BU Polycarbonates
Jim Chrise is Vice President and General Manager of the Advanced Resins Division NAFTA, Polycarbonates Business Unit (BU PCS). In his role, Jim is a member of the Bayer Material Science LLC North American Leadership Team, as well as the Polycarbonates Global Leadership Team with particular general management responsibility for the BU PCS Advanced Resin Division in NAFTA.
Prior to his current position, Jim served as President and CEO of Deerfield Urethane, Inc., a Bayer MaterialScience subsidiary located in Whately, Mass., that specializes in thermoplastic polyurethane and specialty elastomer film and sheet applications.
Before joining Deerfield Urethane in 2003, Jim worked for Bayer MaterialScience for 19 years, starting as a Process Engineer for Mobay in 1984. He held numerous positions of increasing responsibility in Corporate and Plant Engineering, Coatings Manufacturing and Plastics Manufacturing, including Senior Vice President of Global Styrenics Manufacturing for the Plastics Division in Dormangen, Germany. Jim has an abundance of experience working at various Bayer U.S. and German sites leading up to 2003. He has worked in Pittsburgh, Baytown, Leverkusen, Krefeld, and Dormagen prior to Whately, Mass.
Jim is an experienced and passionate leader with a strong personal commitment to the success of the organization. He participates in and is a strong supporter of the Bayer MaterialScience mentoring program.
A native of Pittsburgh, Jim holds a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.
Jim is married (wife, Dianna) and has two young children (Amanda and Tanner). He is excited to be back in Pittsburgh after 17 years working at various Bayer sites and currently resides with his family in Franklin Park Township.
