Scott G. Brown is Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary for Bayer MaterialScience LLC. He is responsible for the Law, Patents and Licensing Department, providing corporate and intellectual property counsel to all Business and Service Units, as well as subsidiaries, of Bayer MaterialScience LLC.
Scott began his career in 1980 as Counsel for the Marathon Oil Company, and moved on to become Counsel and Director in the Law Department for Mobay/Bayer in 1987.
Scott is active in the community as a Board member of Manchester Bidwell Corporation, a not-for-profit charitable corporation serving adults and youth in the Pittsburgh region by providing instruction, guidance and mentorship in career and arts education. He also supports the efforts of Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Greater Pittsburgh, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and Bayer's Making Science Make Sense/BASIC organization.
He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in History with a minor in Economics from Hiram College and was elected Phi Beta Kappa in 1977. He received his Juris Doctorate from Case Western Reserve University in 1980.
Scott, his wife and family live in Pittsburgh.
